What are you going to do 

  • Lead and oversee the Piping Discipline, including piping layouts, 3D modelling (E3D), stress engineering, materials engineering, material handling, and design teams.
  • Provide clear direction, inspire, and coordinate team members to achieve project goals.
  • Apply a structured approach to planning, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Develop team capabilities through delegation, coaching, and empowerment.
  • Ensure timely delivery of piping discipline outputs to support fabrication and construction activities.
  • Oversee the release of fabrication deliverables from yard engineering in line with project schedules.
  • Collaborate with Planning and Construction teams, providing inputs on fabrication and installation requirements.
  • Resolve technical and construction issues arising during fabrication and installation phases.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, project specifications, industry best practices, and international codes.
  • Ensure compliance with classification requirements as defined by each project.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise on all piping-related matters.
  • Manage and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews and constructability assessments.
  • Review and manage technical queries, deviations, and concessions.
  • Maintain E3D model integrity, ensuring accuracy and data consistency.
  • Ensure technical compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
  • Plan, allocate, and deliver resources for projects and tender activities.
  • Participate in Engineering Management meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Support bid activities, including manhour estimation, scope definition, and contribution to bid documentation.
  • Drive talent development through reviews, succession planning, and career progression initiatives.
  • Engage and motivate employees through open communication, recognition, and feedback.
  • Partner with HR to meet recruitment needs in a timely manner.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practice transfer across the discipline.
  • Facilitate technical and behavioural training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and the company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Continuously improve work processes, procedures, standardization, digitalization, and lessons learned practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in piping within FPSO/offshore oil & gas/EPC projects.
  • At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven track record as a Section Head or equivalent leadership position.
  • Prior experience as a Lead Piping Engineer, with strong expertise in: Piping design and layouts 3D modelling Pipe supports and stress analysis Piping materials and material handling Weight estimation Construction and production engineering support
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as E3D, CAESAR II, MDS, and Navisworks.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards including ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, NORSOK, and related codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Commercial awareness with a strategic and business-oriented mindset.
  • Visionary leadership with the ability to drive discipline growth and performance.
  • High energy, resilience, and ability to work in complex, high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within diverse, multicultural teams.
