Introduction

Brunel is partnering with a leading multinational ship fabrication company to recruit an experienced Piping Inspector for a project based in Batam, Indonesia.

Professionals with experience in shipbuilding, offshore fabrication, marine, EPC, or heavy industrial projects who are passionate about quality assurance and ensuring piping systems are fabricated and installed to the highest industry standards.

What are you going to do 

  • Perform inspections throughout piping fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications, client requirements, applicable codes, and international standards.
  • Inspect piping materials, fit-up, welding, dimensional accuracy, hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, and final acceptance.
  • Witness inspections, pressure tests, and QA/QC activities, ensuring all work meets quality requirements.
  • Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, NCRs, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with production, QA/QC teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Ensure all piping activities comply with HSE requirements and project quality standards.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Piping Inspector within shipbuilding, shipyard, offshore fabrication, EPC, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, installation, welding inspection, pressure testing, and quality control processes.
  • Familiar with international codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, and applicable project specifications.
  • Relevant inspection certifications (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, API, or equivalent) are highly preferred.
  • Experienced in preparing inspection documentation and working with client QA/QC requirements.
  • Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
