Introduction

Brunel is seeking a HSSE Officer to work in a one-rotation (28 days) assignment, from May until June, with one of our clients, a big player in the oil and gas industry. This position is open to expat applicants.

What are you going to do 

  • Act as the HSSE focal point onboard, supporting project activities and ensuring safe operations.
  • Monitor and inspect the work environment to ensure compliance with safety procedures, permits, and regulations.
  • Provide HSSE support for operational activities, including lifting and mechanical handling, ensuring proper risk controls.
  • Participate in and support safety meetings, briefings, and coordination sessions.
  • Promote safety initiatives and reinforce HSSE awareness among personnel.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response exercises.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and observations, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Assist in incident and near-miss reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and verify workforce competency and compliance.
  • Perform pre-task safety checks and verify worksite readiness before critical activities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Qualified to Minimum NEBOSH Cert preferred, NEBOSH Diploma would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience with hydrocarbon Production Operations processing experience on or offshore, or in similar environment.
  • FPSO experience preferred.
  • Good experience in Safety Management Systems.
  • Highly experienced in use and operation of PTW, Risk Assessment, Gas Testing, safe control and monitoring of all hazardous maintenance activities including hot work and confined space entry.
  • Experience of helicopter operations (HLO experience preferred).
  • Medically fit to offshore International standards.
  • Valid offshore certificates.
