What are you going to do 

This is a 6-month Maternity Leave position as Head of Design. You'll take full ownership of the design function, ensuring alignment between development intent and construction delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design strategy across development and live projects
  • Manage design from feasibility, planning, and approvals through to delivery
  • Drive buildability, cost efficiency, and programme alignment
  • Oversee consultants, authorities, and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate design and delivery risks

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Proven experience as a Head of Design / Senior Design Manager within a builder or builder-developer
  • Strong understanding of both development and construction phases
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Available to commence June 2026
