Introduction

Brunel is seeking an experienced Finance & Assets Manager to join the senior management team of a growing group of businesses in Guyana.

This is a senior-level opportunity for a finance professional with a strong commercial mindset and a proven background in banking, particularly Credit or Credit Analysis.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead financial planning, analysis, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting across the group.
  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, financing proposals, and lender requirements.
  • Assess, structure, and monitor customer credit, including credit limits, terms, collections, and portfolio risk.
  • Apply sound lending principles and credit analysis to business decisions, investments, and financing requirements.
  • Oversee company assets, including properties, vehicles, and equipment, ensuring appropriate controls, records, and utilization.
  • Support the Managing Director in evaluating investments, capital expenditure, acquisitions, and major commercial decisions.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls, approval processes, documentation, and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks, insurers, and other financial partners.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to senior management.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Previous banking experience in Credit or Credit Analysis is mandatory.
  • Strong experience in lending, financial analysis, credit structuring, and credit assessment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • A high level of professionalism, commercial awareness, and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-growing business environment and partner directly with senior management.
  • A relevant qualification in Finance, Banking, Accounting, or Business is preferred. Advanced professional qualifications are an advantage.
