What are you going to do 

The CAS Engineering Lead is responsible for bridging Engineering, Project, Site Operations, and external vendors to ensure technical alignment is clearly defined, formally captured, and effectively communicated throughout the Collision Avoidance System (CAS) project.

The role provides technical leadership across the engineering lifecycle, ensuring requirements, design decisions, interfaces, and implementation activities remain aligned with operational objectives, project milestones, and safety requirements. Acting as a central point of technical coordination, the Engineering Lead drives collaboration across stakeholders, facilitates resolution of complex technical decisions, and ensures risks, assumptions, and dependencies are proactively managed.

The role is accountable for maintaining traceability and consistency between engineering intent, vendor deliverables, and outcomes, supporting the successful development and integration of the CAS solution. The Engineering Lead also contributes to engineering governance, continuous improvement, and the establishment of effective processes to support safe, reliable, and scalable system delivery.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Establish and maintain effective technical alignment between Engineering, Project, Site Operations, Product team, and vendors.
  • Ensure technical decisions, requirements, and constraints are consistently understood across all stakeholders.
  • Drive structured engagement with external vendors to clarify requirements, manage technical queries, and resolve design issues.
  • Coordinate the development and review of requirements, design artefacts, interface definitions, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Ensure artefacts remain aligned with project objectives, operational needs, and agreed technical decisions.
  • Proactively identify technical risks, gaps, inconsistencies, and integration challenges.
