Introduction

Civil / Structural Lead - LNG Project (Afungi, Mozambique | 28/28 Rotation | 12-Month Contract (Renewable)

Join a world-class, multi-billion-dollar LNG development in a remote coastal location. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing large-scale onshore infrastructure within a complex, multicultural project environment.

What are you going to do 

Interface Management

  • Act as the focal point between civil/structural and other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, piping, HSE, QA/QC, logistics).
  • Lead interface coordination meetings, ensuring issues are identified, tracked, and resolved.
  • Manage interface documentation and ensure full traceability.
  • Anticipate and resolve cross-discipline conflicts.
  • Oversee contractual interfaces including deviations, concessions, and non-conformities.

Technical & Operational Leadership

  • Lead all civil/structural site activities through to commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, HSE, quality, and schedule.
  • Provide technical support on construction, claims, and contractor correspondence.
  • Monitor and evaluate EPC contractor performance and progress.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop multidisciplinary site teams.
  • Promote collaboration and a strong safety culture across all activities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 12-15+ years' experience on major industrial projects (LNG/Oil & Gas preferred)
  • Proven leadership on complex construction sites
  • Strong interface management experience
  • Fluent English (Portuguese or French advantageous)
  • Excellent HSE mindset and decision-making under pressure
