Brunel is partnering with a leading international offshore energy operator to recruit an Asset Integrity Engineer for a key role supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of one of Australia's offshore production assets.

Based residentially in Darwin CBD and reporting to the Technical & Maintenance Manager, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity and long-term performance of a complex FPSO. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection and specialist service providers, you will provide technical leadership across static equipment, piping, structural systems, hull and turret/mooring infrastructure.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide day-to-day integrity engineering support across structural systems, static equipment, piping, hull and turret/mooring systems
  • Assess inspection findings and develop practical repair, mitigation and monitoring strategies
  • Support fitness-for-service assessments and integrity risk evaluations
  • Coordinate and support Risk Based Inspection (RBI) programmes and workshops
  • Develop and maintain RBI databases and asset integrity information
  • Recommend inspection techniques based on equipment condition and degradation mechanisms
  • Prepare technical scopes of work for inspection, repair and integrity campaigns
  • Review technical inspection reports and ensure findings are appropriately captured and actioned
  • Assess contractor proposals, repair methodologies and technical submissions
  • Liaise with vendors and inspection contractors throughout planning and execution
  • Manage integrity-related anomalies through the CMMS and ensure timely close-out
  • Support offshore inspection and maintenance campaigns as required
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of asset integrity systems and processes

Essential skills and knowledge 

You will be an experienced integrity, mechanical, materials or inspection engineer with previous experience supporting operating oil and gas facilities.

You enjoy solving technical challenges, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and making engineering decisions that directly influence the safety, reliability and long-term performance of critical production assets. To be successful, you will ideally possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials or Metallurgical Engineering
  • Previous oil and gas industry experience
  • Experience in asset integrity, inspection engineering, static equipment or mechanical integrity
  • Strong understanding of pressure vessels, piping systems, structural integrity and degradation mechanisms
  • Experience supporting or managing Risk Based Inspection (RBI) programmes
  • Knowledge of inspection planning, integrity assessments and anomaly management
  • Experience preparing engineering reports, technical scopes of work and contractor deliverables
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities

Highly regarded experience includes:

  • FPSO or offshore production asset experience
  • Hull, structural or turret/mooring integrity experience
  • Knowledge of API 580 and API 581 RBI methodologies
  • Experience with DNV Synergi RBI Offshore or Plant
  • Familiarity with IFS or a similar CMMS
  • Experience supporting offshore inspection and repair campaigns
  • Corrosion management and asset life extension experience
  • Chartered status or progress towards professional accreditation
