Introduction

Brunel is seeking a Wireline Field Engineer to work in a temporary contract (6 months - 1 year) with one of our clients, a company in the oil and gas industry, offshore in Guyana (28x28 rotation).

What are you going to do 

  • Perform wireline operations in offshore environments, including running and retrieving wireline tools, perforating, logging and other wireline services as required.
  • Independently provide basic services and tool operation to customers at the wellsite, applying engineering, mechanical and geological principles to articulate data interpretations to the client.
  • Maintain and ensure the readiness of wireline tools and equipment through routine inspections, troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Acquire, quality-check and interpret downhole data; generate reports and provide technical recommendations to the client based on the findings.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate job deliverables on time, including final job deliverables and job invoice supporting documentation.
  • Participate in job risk analysis and implement risk response during service delivery.
  • Comply with HSE and quality policy: wear PPE, maintain required safety training, and support wellsite inspections, self-assessments and Service Quality Meetings with the customer.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists and operators, and support the training and development of operators and associate field professionals.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical diploma in electrical, electronics, mechanical or mechatronics engineering.
  • Field experience in wireline services (open hole and/or cased hole, logging, perforating).
  • Demonstrable operational experience on deep water rigs - semi-submersibles and/or drillships - including working within the operational and logistical constraints of deepwater well intervention.
  • Familiarity with deepwater-specific conditions: high-pressure/high-temperature applications, subsea well control interfaces, longer tool strings and restricted rig floor space.
  • Valid offshore survival and medical certification (BOSIET/HUET, offshore medical) appropriate to the region of work.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
