Introduction

As a Manufacturing Engineer Mechanical at Damen Naval, your core mission is to maximize efficiency in our naval shipbuilding projects. You'll achieve this by optimizing equipment layout, workflow, and assembly methods for mechanical elements. You'll define parts and tools needed, then plan, design, and refine production processes to ensure peak efficiency.

What are you going to do 

Key accountabilitiesIn this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide detailed work instructions and manufacturing drawings for production.
  • Manage Material Take-Off (MTO) and raw material orders.
  • Develop engineering information packages and tool instructions.
  • Specify Quality Checks per the Test and Inspection Plan.
  • Control the workflow of mechanical manufacturing processes.
  • Identify shortcomings and propose workflow improvements.

Essential skills and knowledge 

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Professional education (Mbo-4) in Mechanical Engineering with 5-7 years relevant experience.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Full understanding of all production phases, from raw materials to commissioning.
  • Experience in a machining/production environment, preferably shipbuilding.
  • Proficiency with production/engineering software (e.g., SAP, 3DX, Cadmatic/Inventor).
  • Good command of English and Dutch (written & verbal).
  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
