What are you going to do 

Brunel is recruiting Wellsite Geologists to work in Houston, TX for initially 1 year contract.

- This role supports drilling and development operations within an oil and gas environment.

- The Operations / Wellsite Geologist works primarily in an office-based setting and is responsible for planning development wells, overseeing drilling activities, and ensuring optimal well placement.

- The role requires coordination with multiple technical teams and integration of geological data to support efficient drilling operations and development strategies.

- The candidate will support development drilling programs by overseeing well planning, monitoring drilling activities, and ensuring geological objectives are met.

- The position requires working closely with remote operations teams, mudloggers, and multiple internal departments to coordinate development activities and ensure efficient well execution.

Responsibilities:

- Create and execute development plans for drilling programs

- Plan development wells and determine optimal well placement

- Ensure drilling activities align with overall development strategy

- Monitor and oversee active drilling operations

- Work with remote operations teams and onsite mudloggers to track geological data and drilling performance

- Support efficient execution of drilling activities and development programs

- Coordinate drilling activities across multiple departments including Land, Regulatory, Reservoir Engineering, and Drilling teams

- Ensure alignment between geological objectives and operational execution

- Communicate with internal teams to support drilling operations and development planning

- Interpret geological data collected during drilling activitiesIntegrate data into broader development and field planning strategies

- Support accurate well placement and resource development decisions

Education:

- Master's degree or higher in Geology, Geoscience, or a related field

Essential skills and knowledge 

Skills and Qualifications:

- 8 to 12 years of experience working as a geoscientist in the oil and gas industry

- Minimum 5 years of experience working in unconventional resource development

- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting active drilling operations

- Strong understanding of drilling operations and development well planning

- Experience with well placement and geological data interpretation

- Knowledge of unconventional reservoir development

- Proficiency in Petra, Kingdom or Petrel

- Geosteering experience considered an advantage but not required
