Introduction

Our client is seeking experienced Underground Auto Electricians for multiple FIFO mining operations across WA and SA. You will complete diagnostics, repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance on CAT and Sandvik heavy mobile equipment. These 12-month contracts offer the possibility of extension or permanent employment.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults across underground heavy mobile equipment.
  • Complete scheduled servicing and preventative electrical maintenance.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems, wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting and associated components.
  • Use diagnostic equipment, technical manuals and electrical schematics to identify faults.
  • Complete all work in accordance with OEM standards and site procedures.
  • Support equipment reliability and fleet availability.
  • Work closely with production and planning teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Complete maintenance records and service documentation accurately.
  • Identify hazards, raise safety concerns and actively contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Support team members and step into additional responsibilities when required.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Essential Requirements

  • Australian-recognised Auto Electrical trade qualification.
  • Previous experience working on heavy mobile mining equipment.
  • Experience with CAT and/or Sandvik equipment or systems.
  • Previous underground mining experience.
  • Current Australian manual driver's licence.
  • Relevant licences and certifications, such as Working at Heights, EWP and Forklift.
  • Strong electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
  • Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

Desirable Requirements

  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Experience across multiple underground mining equipment platforms.
  • Experience with breakdown response, electrical component replacement and planned maintenance.
  • Previous experience working in remote FIFO mining operations.
