Introduction

Are you experienced in operating track machines and passionate about maintaining the integrity of railway tracks? We are seeking two skilled Track Machine Operators to join our team. As a Track Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the rail infrastructure network located in Port Hedland. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and repair of railway tracks, working with specialized equipment and collaborating with a dedicated team and opportunity to cover the entire rail infrastructure network.

What are you going to do 

  • Operate specialized track machines, such as track tampers, ballast regulators, rail cranes, and other equipment, effectively and safely to carry out required tasks.
  • Perform track maintenance tasks, including track alignment, leveling, and surfacing.
  • Use track machines to tamp the ballast under the tracks, regulate the ballast, and maintain proper track geometry.
  • Assist in track repairs and construction projects, replacing or repairing damaged rails, sleepers (ties), and other track components.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and address track defects, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the rail network.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, maintaining a safe work environment, conducting pre-operation inspections, reporting any machine defects or issues, and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Ability to pass a CAT 1 Rail Medical
  • Rail Industry Safety Induction Card
  • Manual C-Class Drivers License
