Introduction

Brunel Australasia has partnered with one of the world's premier energy and petrochemical companies to find a Terminal Operator to join their team at their Birkenhead Terminal location, South Australia.

What are you going to do 

As a Terminal Operator, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of their facility, ensuring the reliability of equipment and the supply/delivery system.

Your responsibilities will include operating, maintaining, and repairing site facilities in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. Additionally, you will actively participate in activities promoting site safety, security, environmental protection, quality, and business controls, in line with the principles of operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain measurement systems, including meters, weigh scales, gauging, and injectors, following Company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory legislation.
  • Participate in scheduled operations and safety meetings.
  • Adhere to control standards and procedures outlined in the PDM, ensuring 100% compliance.
  • Collaborate with other Company departments, providing support for operational and maintenance activities.
  • Act as a member of the Site Emergency Response Team.
  • Support Product Quality and Supply groups in maintaining superior product quality and managing supply issues.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors and drivers, focusing on safety, orientation, and compliance.

    Essential skills and knowledge 

    • High-level working knowledge of measurement practices
    • Strong computer skills including Excel and Word
    • Excellent understanding of product quality requirements
    • Secondary/ High School Diploma
    • Minimum 100% of assigned Stage 3 Training per GMT Standards
    • Experience as a Terminal Operator
    • Working knowledge of the applicable rules, regulations and standards for the operation
    • Strong level of interpersonal skills
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
    • Works with some supervision and support.
    • Demonstrates leadership skills
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Good mechanical aptitude.
