What are you going to do 

Reporting to the Terminal Supervisor, this role is responsible for completing all day-to-day terminal operating activities in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Pinkenba Terminal.
Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Perform all terminal operations including: shipping, product transfers, tank gauging including stock level calculations, stock control, truck loading operations, operating control systems and loading of packaged goods
  • Performing general tasks such as preventative maintenance, site and equipment inspection, site documentation, equipment set up and operation of mobile and stationary equipment and site house keeping
  • Participate in LOTO system as necessary
  • Participating in prestart meetings
  • Champion site safety
  • Demonstrate the Quantem values of Safety, Partnering, Accountability, Leadership and Excellence

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Forklift license
  • A trade qualification in a Mechanical/Technical field would be highly desirable
  • Previous experience in safety management systems (i.e. permit to work)
  • Previous training in truck and ship loading, wharf duties highly desirable
  • Previous experience in Chemical handling facility operations highly desirable
  • Sound understanding of handling Dangerous Goods and Hazardous chemicals
  • Computer literacy
  • Confined space training highly desirable
