Introduction

  • A Technician (Maintenance) is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of technical systems and equipment, particularly in industrial environments such as oil and gas, petrochemical, and telecom sectors.
  • This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous operations.

What are you going to do 

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on PAGA (Public Address and General Alarm) systems and related field hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and calibration of equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service reports and equipment logs.
  • Coordinate with engineers and supervisors to plan and execute maintenance schedules.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Diploma or Trade Certification in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of PAGA systems and field hardware.
  • Prior experience with QatarEnergy contracts or equivalent oil and gas projects (onshore and offshore) is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with safety procedures, permit systems, and maintenance documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with PAGA systems such as:
    • Federal Signal
    • VODEC
    • Spectar Lumenex
    • GAI-Tronics-Elemec
    • Nuemann
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic faults.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
  • Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
