The primary purpose of the role is to conduct inspections and surveillance of areas under the control of Industrial Cities to ensure that the facilities and work practices and its Contractors are in compliance with the safety requirements of Regulations, Standards and Procedures.
Occasionally work out of normal business hours as per operational requirements (e.g. abnormal load escort).
Perform standby duties as per scheduled roster for emergencies.
Must be physically fit and capable to work in a field-based industrial city environment.
What are you going to do
Undertake safety inspections of facilities and work practices and prepare reports. These facilities and work practices include but not limited to scaffolding, deep excavations, building sites, lifting equipment and operations, welding, mechanical workshops, land transport of heavy and dangerous goods, construction laydown yards, waste disposal and treatment facilities, chemical storage areas, warehouses, and worker accommodation.
Participate in incident investigations.
Perform and record safety risk assessments of work. Identify and report non-compliance safety observations and safety behavior.
Supervise and assure compliance of safety-critical activities (e.g. confined space entry).
Collect hazard observation cards, enter data to database and analyze the results.
Provide escorts for land transport of wide and abnormal loads.
Participate in audits of Company and Contractor Safety Management Systems.
Review Contractor PTW applications and ensure on-site compliance with PTW conditions.
Deliver safety related training including site inductions, Toolbox Talks and use of PPE.
Support other functions (e.g. environment, security, health) in field-based activities.
Essential skills and knowledge
Completed 12 years of education (high school certificate or equivalent).
Safety diploma, Post Graduate Certificate with NEBOSH Certificate issued by an internationally recognized authority.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a safety role in the oil & gas or construction industry.
Able to speak and written English (to Level 5 standard).
Competent in MS Office.
Possess a valid Qatari Driving license.
