What are you going to do 

  • Assess and recommend technical suitability of Tenderers to perform the work, within Instrumentation engineering and related areas;
  • Perform and deliver the functions of Instrument Discipline Engineer, responsible and accountable for reviewing the instrument engineering deliverables for NGL-5 project. prepared by an engineering consultant and preparing in-house engineering deliverables;
  • Ensure the required Company technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work-scopes and whilst conducting Instrumentation Engineering activates;
  • Directly responsible for ensuring that the Instrumentation design/engineering deliverables of Contractors and Consultants are in compliance with Company requirements.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering on Instrument Measurement & Control (or equivalent). Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable;
  • Functional Safety related Certification from 3rd parties such as Exida / TUV as well as Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.

Experience:

  • 10 years instrument technical professional experience in upstream oil and gas industry that include a minimum of 7 years in facilities design (front-end, conceptual, and detailed design);
  • Hands-on experience in the design and engineering of both Field Instrumentation and Automation Systems;
  • Knowledge of relevant oil & gas HSE regulations including procedures and instructions;
  • Full understanding of HSSE & SP management principles and its application;
  • Familiar with international standards API, ISA, IEC, etc. as well as Shell DEP standards and procedures;
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment;
  • Ability to manage ICSS vendors as Main Automation Contractors during early stages of the project;
  • Good communication skills and interpersonal ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Aptitudes for taking initiatives are preferred.
