Sr. Electrical Engineer
Vacancy Number: TR-262225
Plays a critical role in the successful execution of large-scale EPC projects in the oil and gas sector, particularly within offshore LNG and FPSO developments. Responsible for delivering reliable, safe, and cost-effective electrical engineering solutions in compliance with international standards, project specifications, and classification society requirements. The engineer will oversee the design integrity of offshore power generation, distribution, and control systems, ensuring seamless coordination across multidisciplinary teams and engineering contractors.
Working closely with project managers, construction teams, and third-party vendors, provides technical leadership from the FEED phase through detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning. A strong understanding of offshore electrical systems, including high- and low-voltage power systems, hazardous area classification, and integration with instrumentation and control systems, is essential. Requires proactive risk management, review of engineering deliverables, and mentoring of junior engineers to maintain design quality and execution excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead and manage all electrical engineering activities for the offshore LNG Deepwater project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and classification society requirements.
Develop, review, and approve electrical design deliverables, including single-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, equipment specifications, and power system studies.
Provide technical expertise for the design and integration of high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) systems, power generation, distribution networks, and control systems in offshore environments.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, procurement, and construction to ensure timely and accurate execution of electrical scope from FEED through detailed design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
Conduct technical reviews, HAZID/HAZOP participation, and ensure designs meet hazardous area classification requirements for offshore facilities.
Interface with client representatives (INPEX) and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and participate in design reviews and project meetings.
Oversee factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and inspections to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and risk registers for the electrical scope, ensuring timely resolution of potential issues.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the project team.
Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality assurance procedures throughout all phases of the project.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university; Master's degree is an advantage.
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in offshore LNG, FPSO, or deepwater projects in an EPC environment.
Strong technical expertise in offshore electrical systems, including HV, MV, and LV systems, power generation, distribution networks, and electrical protection systems.
Proven experience in hazardous area classification, electrical equipment selection for offshore environments, and compliance with IEC, IEEE, API, and other relevant international standards.
Demonstrated ability to manage electrical engineering scope from FEED through detailed design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning.
Hands-on experience with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM Power Tools) and familiarity with design review processes.
Solid understanding of classification society rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register) and regulatory requirements.
Excellent coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and risk management skills.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Willingness to travel to fabrication yards, offshore sites, and vendor facilities as required by the project.
