Introduction

This role is based in Sydney, and offers the opportunity to work on a growing pipeline of projects in the transport and civil sectors. You'll be responsible for managing the estimating process from tender review through to submission, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver competitive bids.

What are you going to do 

  • Review tender documentation including drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and gather supplier/subcontractor quotations
  • Lead and manage the estimating process, including tender submission preparation and review
  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Interpret contract documents, construction methods, legislation, standards, and codes
  • Lead estimate review meetings and prepare relevant reports and presentations
  • Mentor and support junior team members, promoting a positive and collaborative culture

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 10+ years' experience in construction estimating, preferably in NSW
  • Civil engineering degree or similar tertiary qualification
  • Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 companies
  • Knowledge of TfNSW and NSW infrastructure projects highly regarded
  • Experience with earthworks, roadworks, structures, and services installation preferred
  • Skilled in estimating software or willingness to learn
  • Ability to understand and estimate self-performed work crews
  • Australian working rights
