Introduction

  • This position is primarily accountable for engineering activity covering the planning, program preparation and execution of drilling and workover operations within DW team.
  • As part of the drilling engineering team, you will deliver engineering design, program preparation and operational support on new and existing wells.
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure drilling programs, program amendments, MOCs and deviations to COMPANY referential are prepared on schedule and are adequately risk assessed.
  • Commitment to HSE, Golden Rules and Incident Free – act as leading example and contribute.

What are you going to do 

  • Prepares well design following WSOR process in line with COMPANY rules and procedures.
  • Prepares well drilling programs optimizing cost and lead times.
  • Accounts for efficient monitoring of drilling operation including collision avoidance and timely reporting of deviation from plan.
  • Ensures required deviations are in place.
  • Participates in CFT process and ensure the suitability of contracted services, equipment and personnel vs. operational requirements.
  • Prepares Drilling feasibilities of various ad-hoc opportunities for slot recoveries, re-drills and multi-lateral wells etc.
  • Closely follows up NCR investigations and timely closures.
  • Actively participates and leads (where applicable) Task force(s) formed for tackles various challenges.
  • Acts as mentor for developer, interns and associate drilling engineers.
  • Follow-up Contracts to monitor and steer Contractors on HSE, personnel, equipment, and invoices.
  • Continuously searches for innovative approaches to improve operational procedures, equipment and contracted services with the aim of making operations safer and more efficient.
  • Accounts for quick implementation of lessons learned.
  • Accounts for timely and accurate Final Well Report.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's in Engineering Degree, (Master's preferred)
  • 8-10 years Drilling & Well Engineering experience, with minimum 2 years rig site operational experience
  • Excellent English language skills (written and spoken)
  • Experienced in well planning using Landmark Suite (Compass™, WellPlan™, StressCheck™, Casing Seat™)
  • Experienced with Contract Management.
  • Experienced with MS Office suite
  • Experience in creating and delivering quality presentations to management, shareholders and regulators
  • Competence in use of reporting software; WellView™
  • Valid IWCF Well Control Certification (Level 4), or competency for qualification
  • Valid OPITO™ approved Sea Survival, H2S and Fire-Fighting Certification, or competency for qualification
