What are you going to do 

Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join the business and play a key role in the successful delivery of major commercial projects. This position will see you involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from pre-construction and design development through to on-site delivery and project completion.

Inital projects will be across retirement and community projects up to $90M

  • Lead and manage the design process from concept through to construction completion.
  • Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive design program outcomes, ensuring milestones are achieved.
  • Identify and mitigate design risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to project delivery teams.
  • Manage design compliance, buildability reviews, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Work closely with site and project teams to ensure seamless transition from design to construction.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager within a commercial head contractor environment.
  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, from design management through to on-site delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate consultants and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience across healthcare, education, aged care, retirement living, industrial, or similar commercial sectors will be highly regarded.
