What are you going to do 

As a Health & Safety Specialist , you will be responsible for engaging primarily with the frontline workforce to raise awareness of health and safety policies, risks, and controls. Your key duties will include facilitating processes in the Health & Safety Management System, conducting incident investigations, and performing hazard assessments to ensure compliance with government laws, regulations, and company policies. You will also lead employee engagement activities, safety audits, safety training, and participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Essential skills and knowledge 

List of Requirements

  • Leading or supervising personnel and/or projects
  • Associate degree and 8 years of experience in Health & Safety or related, OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 year of experience in Health & Safety or related, OR
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment (onsite)
  • Personal protective equipment required when working in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant setting
