Introduction

  • Conduct toolbox meetings, where required to ensure that the works done in safe manner.
  • Participate in job safety analysis meetings.
  • Report accident /incidences in HSEQ synergi system as directed.
  • Participate in incident investigations.

  • Be responsible to follow up corrective actions.

What are you going to do 

  • Perform regular 8 hrs. rigorous field safety activities within the machine shop and fabrication areas with one day weekly off.
  • Conduct Safety Tours and inspect the machine shop's interior and exterior zones, including manual lathes, welding bays, and tool rooms, to determine if there are any mechanical hazards, improper guarding, or potential unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor machine operators and technicians to ensure they are carrying out equipment maintenance and repairs in a safe manner and are not involved in unsafe practices like bypassing interlocks or improper tool usage.
  • Check all personnel to ensure they are following shop-specific safety instructions (e.g., Eye Protection Policy, Lockout/Tagout procedures) and report any deviations to the company representative accordingly.
  • Participate in scheduled and unscheduled safety walks or floor surveys carried out by the company to assess high-risk machinery areas.
  • Audit Hot Work and Maintenance Permits to ensure their adequacy for specific shop tasks and report any deviations regarding fire safety or equipment isolation.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Electrical, welding, instrument & machine shop safety (Machine safety) in GCC within oil& gas or manufacturing sectors companies.
  • NEBOCSH Diploma with valid NEBOSH ( IGC) Certificate or Diploma in industrial safety engineering from recognized institute/University.
  • Proficiency in English language (Read, write & speak).
  • Proficiency in Computer skill.
  • Machine Guarding: Ensuring all equipment has appropriate physical barriers (fixed, interlocked, or adjustable) to prevent contact with moving parts.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO): Managing the energy isolation procedures required during maintenance or repair of heavy machinery to prevent accidental startup.
  • Point-of-Operation Safety: Knowledge of specific hazards related to cutting, shearing, or shaping materials.
  • PPE Management: Oversight of specialized protective gear like impact-resistant eye protection and ensuring workers avoid loose clothing or jewelry that could snag in rotating parts.
