Introduction

Candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality and compliance with design specifications, regulatory codes and laws as an Owner's Project Team member.

What are you going to do 

  • Implement overall QA/QC Management System at site
  • Verify quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors
  • Coordinate quality inspections walkdowns with all the superintendents, site subcontractors and vendors
  • Coordinate QA/QC Standards with Owner's Construction Field Superintendents
  • Coordinate all non-destructive testing on-site
  • Coordinate all inspections, documentation, and QA/QC walkdown images as required
  • Participate in internal and external site quality audits
  • Ensure all QC documentation is compiled and completed for as-built hand over into online document storage system
  • Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action
  • Complete site Quality Control instructions and action remedial responses
  • Review the specification and undertake relevant training to site team
  • Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan
  • Complete and coordinate the approval of the site's QC technical submittals to the customer
  • Coordinate with owners project management team on all quality matters
  • Report to the site construction manager on all quality issues
  • Coordinate and chair a QA/QC site weekly meetings with the projects subcontractors QC personnel
  • Assure all technical documents relative to site quality control are kept current
  • Ensure that safety is adhered to on-site
  • Other assigned duties as required

Essential skills and knowledge 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction or Related Field with a minimum of 6 years' experience in QA/QC OR
  • High School diploma with a minimum of 10 years' experience in QA/QC
  • At least 4 years' of experience in managing large value EPC Projects (Onshore Projects) in Mining industry
  • Experience in developing and reviewing project quality plans, contract documents and project specifications
  • Coordination of Test Pack preparation and Final Handover documentation activities to ensure smooth handover.
  • Conduct and organize QMS Internal/External audit and ensure close out of all Inspection and Audit Nonconformities

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with mega projects (values exceeding US$ 1.0 billion), especially large mineral processing projects.
  • Prior EPCM experience preferred with field-based quality management experience.
  • Experience in setting performance KPI's and tracking on a day-to-day basis
  • Experience in field roles in all disciplines
  • Working as a team member (Client, EPCM & Contractors)
