QA/ QC Mechanical Engineer

The QA/QC Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of all mechanical works during the construction phase of a mission-critical data center project. This includes monitoring installation activities for HVAC, chilled water systems, fire protection, and other mechanical services to ensure compliance with design specifications, project standards, and applicable regulations.
Working closely with design consultants and quality teams, the engineer will conduct inspections, review method statements and ITPs, and document all quality-related activities. This role is critical in maintaining high standards of mechanical execution and supporting successful project delivery within a highly regulated and performance-sensitive environment.
Review and ensure compliance of mechanical works (HVAC, chilled water, fire protection, etc.) with project specifications, design drawings, and applicable codes.
Conduct inspections and quality checks on-site for mechanical installations during various stages of the construction process.
Evaluate and approve mechanical method statements, material submittals, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
Coordinate with design consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors to address technical issues and ensure timely resolution of non-conformities.
Witness testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems and ensure proper documentation is in place.
Monitor and maintain proper records of QA/QC activities, including inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective actions.
Participate in quality audits and provide feedback on quality performance to relevant stakeholders.
Support the project team in maintaining a high standard of mechanical quality control aligned with client expectations and industry best practices.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in QA/QC for mechanical systems in construction projects, preferably in data centers, factory projects, high-rise buildings, or mission-critical facilities.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, chilled water, fire protection, and plumbing.
Familiarity with international standards and codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ISO).
Experience working with design consultants and quality management teams is highly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Proficient in preparing and reviewing Method Statements, Material Submittals, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
Able to work under pressure and deliver within tight timelines.
