Introduction

Brunel is supporting a major mining client on a long-term contract opportunity for a Project Change Management Lead. This role sits within the Project Controls team and focuses on change management, schedule analysis, cost control, and coordination across large-scale mining construction projects.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Engineering and Construction teams with project controls, reporting, cost analysis, and schedule tracking
  • Manage the project change process and maintain change logs within the Client's Change Management System
  • Review contractor schedules to ensure alignment with the overall master schedule
  • Validate construction progress and monitor progress measurement against agreed project milestones
  • Identify out-of-scope changes and quantity variances from engineering and construction documents
  • Assess schedule and cost impacts related to design changes, RFIs, and field conditions
  • Analyze project performance against baseline schedules and recommend corrective actions where required
  • Prepare reports, forecasts, charts, and project performance updates for weekly and monthly reporting
  • Support project estimating activities including change orders, labor, material, and equipment cost validation
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project teams to ensure project alignment
  • Review contractor equipment logs, invoices, timesheets, and field reports for compliance and accuracy
  • Assist in identifying and resolving project control issues across active project scopes

Essential skills and knowledge 

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 12+ years of experience in engineering, construction, project controls, or related fields OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related discipline with 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience using SAP, Primavera P6, EcoSys, and ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, forecasting, and cost management
  • Experience working on heavy industrial or mining construction projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Understanding of construction safety practices and field operation
