Production Operator (2 Openings)

Location: Morrisburg, Ontario

What are you going to do

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor food processing equipment such as extraction systems, evaporators, spray dryers, and packaging machinery.
Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment to support efficient production runs.
Perform general maintenance and repairs, resolving mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
Monitor and control processing conditions (temperatures, pressures, flow rates, etc.) to ensure consistency and product quality.
Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process product, and finished goods to meet specifications.
Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, machine settings, and inventory.
Follow strict hygiene, workplace safety, food safety, and environmental protocols.
Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and improve processes.
Support waste management processes and ensure compliance with environmental and food safety standards.
Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and equipment requirements.

Essential skills and knowledge

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and at least 18 years old.
High school diploma required; technical or university training in process technology is an asset.
3-5 years of experience in food or dairy manufacturing preferred.
Proficiency in Japanese is highly preferred.
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude; licensed Mechanic Millwright or equivalent trade certification is a strong asset for the maintenance-focused hire.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to read blueprints and equipment manuals.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment operation.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, work in elevated areas (4 ft+), and occasionally in confined spaces.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required, and in varied environmental conditions (dust, noise, hot/cold).
Welding certification, MRO/MRP familiarity, or food safety certification is a plus.
