Introduction

Work on a major WA mine dewatering and water infrastructure project installing, welding, testing and commissioning HDPE pipeline systems. Responsibilities include pump and bore installation, hydro testing, pipeline commissioning and operating machinery such as excavators and skid steers. Long-term project work supporting critical water management infrastructure within a large-scale resources environment.

What are you going to do 

  • Install, weld and commission HDPE pipeline systems across mine dewatering and water infrastructure projects.
  • Perform butt fusion, electrofusion and extrusion welding in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Complete hydro testing, pressure testing and pipeline commissioning activities.
  • Install and connect pumps, bores, standpipes, valves and associated water infrastructure.
  • Assist with the construction and maintenance of water transfer, abstraction and injection systems.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment including McElroy and Dixon machines.
  • Operate mobile plant and equipment including excavators, skid steers and loaders where required.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, welding procedures and work packs.
  • Conduct pre-start inspections and complete all relevant safety and quality documentation.
  • Inspect welds and ensure all works meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, operators and project teams to deliver works safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, environmental compliance and quality workmanship.
  • Participate in site mobilisation, shutdown and commissioning activities as required.
  • Support ongoing dewatering and water management operations across active mining environments.
  • Adhere to client procedures, permit systems and site-specific safety requirements.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 2-5 years' experience as a Poly Welder on large-scale civil, mining or infrastructure projects.
  • Current Butt Weld and Electrofusion certifications (within 2 years).
  • Current Chainsaw Ticket (within 2 years).
  • Demonstrated experience with HDPE pipeline installation and commissioning.
  • Experience operating McElroy T900, T500, T618 and Dixon HF630/HF225 welding equipment.
  • Proven extrusion welding experience.
  • Experience with hydro testing and pipeline commissioning.
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork.
