Introduction

On behalf of our client, a tier 1 mining operator, we are recruiting for a Mine Surveyor for a short term assignment. The engagement will be for approximately 6 months and will be working a week on, week off roster.

What are you going to do 

  • Conduct accurate mine and engineering surveys to support safe and efficient operations
  • Mark-up and set out drill patterns, blast designs, and mining infrastructure
  • Maintain and update survey data, plans, and models using mine planning software
  • Perform volume calculations, reconciliation, and progress reporting
  • Ensure compliance with statutory survey requirements and site standards
  • Provide survey support to mining, engineering, and geology teams
  • Maintain survey equipment and ensure calibration and accuracy
  • Adhere to site safety systems and promote a strong safety culture

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Mine Surveyor in an open pit environment
  • Strong working knowledge of survey equipment (GPS, total stations, drones - where applicable)
  • Experience with mine planning and survey software (e.g. Deswik, Surpac, Vulcan or similar)
  • Solid understanding of WA mining regulations and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to commit to a 7/7 FIFO roster for the duration of the contract
