Introduction

Brunel is currently searching for an entry-level Metallurgist for direct hire with our client in Arizona.

What are you going to do 

Are you ready to join a forward-thinking mining start-up that's redefining how copper is produced through cutting-edge, in-situ recovery (ISR) and SX/EW technology. As a Metallurgist, you'll play a hands-on role in copper recovery, process optimization, and metallurgical testing-from wellfield to cathode.

What You'll Do:* Conduct metallurgical test work and solution characterization to optimize copper recovery and process efficiency.
* Support lab-scale leaching and SX/EW trials to improve performance and cathode quality.* Monitor plant operations, troubleshoot process challenges, and track key performance metrics.
* Collaborate closely with operators, engineers, and technicians to ensure safe, consistent production.* Prepare data summaries and technical reports for ongoing process improvements.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or related field).
* 2 years of experience in copper recovery, or SX/EW operations preferred.* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and safety.
* Comfortable working across lab, plant, and field environments.* Eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a dynamic start-up environment.
* Safety focused, hands-on, team player.* Preferred exposure to leaching or SX/EW operations through field work or research.
* Experience with process instrumentation, data loggers or control room systems.* Experience with Excel, PI System, Capstone, or metallurgical mass balance tools.
