Introduction

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Draftsman to join our team at a leading fertilizer company.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in producing high-quality mechanical and minor structural drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
  • This role involves collaboration with engineers and project managers to create detailed technical drawings and ensure the accuracy and completeness of design specifications.

What are you going to do 

  • Produce high-quality mechanical and minor structural drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
  • Conduct site surveys, take measurements, and produce "As built for construction" drawings, P&IDs, and other relevant drawings as instructed by engineers.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, datasheets, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety requirements, and client expectations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
  • Maintain accurate records of all drawings and revisions.
  • Ensure adherence to international engineering codes and best practices.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical drafting within the fertilizer, gas, or petrochemical process industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to comprehend, coordinate, and manage multiple projects.
  • Attention to detail and a strong grasp of mathematical concepts.
