Our client is seeking a Manager, Community & Indigenous Relations to lead Canadian‑based engagement efforts with Indigenous Nations, communities, regulators, and regional stakeholders.

This role is based in Smithers, BC, a key government and mineral exploration hub in Northern British Columbia. The position is highly visible, externally facing, and field‑oriented, playing a critical role in building trust, supporting regulatory approvals, and aligning communities with long‑term project development goals.

This role will require in and out travel within Northern, BC to indigenous communities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in Community Relations, Indigenous Relations, Stakeholder Engagement, or a related discipline within the Canadian mining or natural resources sector.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting project advancement through Canadian regulatory processes, ideally into late‑stage development or construction.
  • Proven experience engaging with Indigenous communities in British Columbia; Northern BC experience is strongly preferred.
  • Background in geology, mineral exploration, environmental science, or field‑based operational roles is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian mining and regulatory landscape.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams (technical, regulatory, environmental, executive).
  • Comfortable working independently, traveling frequently, and operating in regional and remote environments.
  • Strong communication, relationship‑building, negotiation, and issue‑resolution skills.
  • Smithers, BC‑based with a hybrid work arrangement (approximately 3 days in office / 2 days remote).
  • Regular travel throughout Northern British Columbia, including remote communities.
  • Candidates currently based in Northern BC are preferred; relocation support is available.
