Introduction

We're seeking a HTS Classification Specialist to work with a major Oil and Gas company on a 1-year contract basis with the possibility of extension.

What are you going to do 

* Determines proper HTS and ECCN classification of EM manufactured products, includes raw materials and finish products (chemical, Fuels and Lubes) under the USHTS and ECCN schedule rules and regulations.

* Maintain data quality (accuracy) in the classification database (SAP), review and update the classification process and procedure.

* Determines eligibility for FTAs(Free Trade Agreements), handles government inquiries, and maintain records of supporting information. This role also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to obtain information for making FTA determinations.

* Determines proper Country of Origin for comingled inventory based on international Rules of Origin, and understand the U.S. marking requirements for import/export product and component.

* Analyzes customs duty exemptions and FTAs to reduce the cost of imports and exports.

* Understand and communicate any OGA/EPA rules or regulations to key stakeholders, and coordinate with cross-functional teams for execution.

Essential skills and knowledge 

* Bachelor's degree is required, preferably with Chemistry, international trade, supply chain and/or engineering related.

* Strong working knowledge and experience with USHTS classification, ECCN, FTA and Country of Origin.

* Basic knowledge of international trade compliance (such as import and export regulations, valuation, FTA and etc.).

* Ability to refine and develop processes to gather the information necessary to classify the products against the regulations.

* Flexibility & adaptability to enthusiastically cross-support other Import / Export Compliance areas.

* Working knowledge of SAP/GTS is desirable.

* LCB, CCS and any other trade compliance certification is preferable.
