Introduction

On behalf of our client, a global oil and gas operator, we are currently seeking a Lead Terminal Technician to join their team on their FLNG on a 12 month contract.

The position conducts loading master tasks and provides maritime support for the safe and efficient exports from Prelude FLNG.

The position shall ensure safe, efficient, and professional maritime competency is exercised and delivered during the operations associated with the management of LNGC/LPGC/Condensate tankers programmed to off-take hydrocarbons from the Prelude FLNG, whilst ensuring that the requirements of the clients Transportation Manual Maritime Standards (TMMS) are upheld and in accordance with the guidance contained in the Marine Process Model.

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities include:

  • Promoting a positive approach to HSSE in all aspects of Marine Operations activities by demonstration of personal commitment to HSSE through the application of safety critical behaviours.
  • As terminal representatives onboard the tanker ensure the safe execution of all Ship / Terminal interface operations in accordance with company and industry guidance (e.g. ISGOTT / SIGTTO) as appropriate.
  • Support Terminal Team Lead in the oversight of mooring and unmooring (side-by-side and tandem) operations.
  • Onboard the offtake tanker, responsible to the Terminal Team Lead for the safe and efficient terminal / LNGC / LPGC / Condensate tanker interface and to ensure that offtake related activities are executed safely and in compliance whilst delivering against the agreed Manual of Permitted Operations (MOPO), defined environmental parameters with due regard to simultaneous operations (SIMOPS).
  • Support Prelude based cargo surveyors to manage cargo quantity and quality onboard the off-take tanker, reporting actual/potential issues.
  • Maintain seagoing watches onboard the offtake tanker during offtakes.
  • Support the Terminal Team Lead with information necessary to prepare for offtake meetings such as the pre berthing Met Ocean briefing call, cargo and mooring tool box talks.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the Gas and Condensate Tanker boxes as well as all ancillary equipment (Portable Pilotage Aid, portable radios (VHF & UHF), Marine Loading Arm remote controllers, functional laptop, printer, portable gas monitors) in readiness for offtake operations.
  • Ensure that all maritime incidents and near misses are reported and recorded in accordance with Investigate & Learn Procedure.
  • Support the Terminal Team Lead in carrying out Level 1 Causal Learning Investigations for marine events within own sphere of operations and support as requested in any further investigation of the same.
  • Ensure operational processes under own control are executed in a timely manner and that exposure to potential demurrage is mitigated. Ensure all necessary paperwork evidence is correlated per vessel.
  • Attend daily all applicable daily meetings such as – Terminal team morning huddle, Services Team Meeting, Morning Pre-start operations meeting, Marine Field Management call engaging as appropriate on all marine related issues.
  • Assist as requested by the Terminal Coordinator in development & review of documentation and procedures relating to the management of maritime operations.
  • Support Prelude emergency response teams on marine related incidents or issues and provide input and training as appropriate to any maritime related emergency response exercise.
  • Support as appropriate with terminal compliance and internal HSSE audits, industry and site self-assessments.
  • Support with planning and execution of routine maintenance activities associated with maritime equipment utilised to facilitate the hydrocarbon off-take, to not compromise safety or impede the optimum efficiency of the program.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with all training requirements for the role.
  • Support Terminal Coordinator to manage unplanned / unforeseen events.
  • As directed by Terminal Coordinator support projects as requested.
