Introduction

  • Responsible for managing the interfaces for COMP2 Project embracing the Compression Project’s overall objectives and strategies, providing overall guidance and leadership with respect to the technical and physical interfaces between COMP2 Project and various other on-going Projects or 3rd parties through management of the Interface Agreement (IA) process.
  • Manage multiple technical interface agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage interface control to ensure that the overall integrity of the facilities is maintained and that the interfacing parties fully understand their accountabilities and responsibilities.
  • Work closely with Construction and Engineering teams to define solutions to external interface issues, which are inherently complex, time critical and frequently involve conflicting priorities between various parties, to achieve delivery of critical agreements in an aggressive project timeline while managing Government Agencies, 3rd party Asset Owners and Joint Facility Owners who are not tied to Compression project schedule.

What are you going to do 

  • Manage all technical interface agreements (IA) and ensure a comprehensive, multi-functional review of all requests, responses is maintained meeting requirements and schedule.
  • Assess information on overall IA process performance and implement improvements ensuring that the process is appropriate, well established and maintained. Manage guidelines and procedures necessary to support and control the IA process within Compression organization.
  • Plan work based on identified interfaces designed to support the department objectives and ensure project department/group knowledge of the interface agreement process.
  • Counsel on construction interface considerations and potential problems, identifying solutions to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage the organization and systems that ensure execution issues involving third parties (e.g. beyond COMPANY and COMPANY contractors) are resolved compatible with Compression project objectives.
  • Work closely with external organizations such as QP, RLIC, AKG, Barzan, Kahramaa and all other emerging projects to achieve project objectives.
  • Assure detailed records are established and maintained which document agreements and commitments between the interface organizations.
  • Develop solid working relationships with key stakeholders to establish an environment whereby incumbent can influence decision making advocating project requirements.
  • Provide clear, accurate, timely and concise two-way communication with other organizations in respect to the exchange and alignment of interface information.
  • Expedite functional reviews of agreements and amendments by appropriate COMPANY groups and management levels to enable requisite Steering Committee/Board approvals and execution, supporting development of Compression Project requirements for Joint Facility Owners' positions on common facilities-related matters such as capacity buy-ins, agreement amendments and budget development, oversight and stewardship.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with knowledge of an onshore major project environment.
  • Previous oil and gas industry experience as Interface or Project Engineer, with exposure to negotiations and developing commercial agreements related to the development and operation of large scale projects (both greenfield and brownfield) involving interactions with government agencies and joint facility/venture international oil company representatives.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
