1. Responsibilities

1.1 Automation Engineering Leadership for Offshore Modules

  • Lead automation scope across FEED, detailed engineering, and module integration phases
  • Define control architecture considering offshore constraints (space, redundancy,
  • modularization, operability)
  • Provide technical leadership across multi-module and multi-vendor environments

1.2 Compressor Control System Engineering

  • Lead design and validation of compressor control for offshore applications:

o Anti-surge control

o Load sharing across multi-compressor trains

o Start-up/shutdown and emergency sequences

  • Ensure reliable operation under transient and variable offshore process conditions
  • Coordinate with factory and control system vendor on all control-related topics, tie-ins and documentation

1.3 Ownership of Key Engineering Deliverables (Module Integration Focus)

Accountable for development and review of:

  • Control Philosophy aligned with offshore operability and safety
  • Cause & Effect diagrams (ESD / F&G / PSD integration)
  • Control Narratives for compressor and package systems
  • ICSS / DCS system architecture for modular plants
  • Interface definitions between modules, skids, and vendor systems
  • Alarm philosophy for remote/offshore operations
  • FAT/SAT of control system, field instrumentation and offshore commissioning documentation

1.4 Vendor & Package Integration (Multi-Skid / Offshore/ FPSO Environment)

  • Lead interface with compressor OEMs, control system supplier and packaged equipment

suppliers

  • Manage integration of multiple control systems across:

o Compressor & Gas Turbineskids

o Utility and process modules comprising air coolers, nitrogen package, gas treatment

package

o Electrical and safety systems

  • Ensure alignment with ICSS integration strategy and offshore communication architecture

1.5 Field Instrumentation & Instrumentation Engineering

  • Lead development and review of key instrumentation deliverables including instrument index, I/O list,

datasheets, specifications, hook-ups, installation details, cable/JB schedules, layouts,

wiring/interconnection diagrams, loop diagrams, cause& effect diagrams, philosophies, narratives

and design basis till as-built updates.

  • Ensure proper selection, specification and requisition of field instruments such as pressure,

temperature, flow and level instruments, control/on-off/actuated valves, analyzers, metering skids and

package instrumentation.

  • Verify instrument suitability for hazardous area classification, environmental/process conditions,

operability and maintainability.

1.6 Technical Safety, Workshops, Site & Offshore Project Support

  • Ensure compliance with offshore project requirements:

o Functional safety (ESD, SIL)

o Availability, redundancy, and maintainability

  • Support HAZOP, SIL, Alarm management, model reviews, and constructability reviews, participation

and close-out

  • Provide support during mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, offshore commissioning, & start-up

2. Experience Requirements

  • Strong experience in compressor control systems for offshore or modular plants
  • Proven experience as control & instrumentation lead in offshore module projects (FPSO,

topsides, gas compression)

  • Experience in multi-vendor package integration in ICSS/DCS environments
  • Experience with module-based engineering and integration (yard and offshore phases)
  • Commissioning or site experience in offshore environments

3. Experience Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics,

Automation, Control Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, offshore or EPC

projects, including detailed engineering and brownfield/greenfield execution.

  • Experience working with Siemens PCS7, Schneider, Emerson, Yokogawa control systems or similar.
  • Experience in Gas Compressor Control is a must
