Introduction

Woodside is at the forefront of digital infrastructure, leveraging advanced network security and architecture to maintain the integrity of critical operational systems across offshore and remote assets. We are seeking a Network Engineer - Network Security & Architecture to provide strategic oversight, technical direction, and hands-on delivery of complex network solutions.

What are you going to do 

As a Network Engineer specializing in Network Security and Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing Woodside's network infrastructure. Reporting to the Network Operations Lead, you will provide expert technical direction on network architecture, security strategy, and operational support for both offshore and remote sites.

Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing network strategies, managing technical project delivery, and ensuring network health and resilience. You will collaborate with stakeholders to align network design with business objectives, provide technical leadership on network security protocols, and conduct risk assessments to mitigate operational vulnerabilities.

In addition to managing complex project scopes, you will also act as a subject matter expert in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-implementation reviews, ensuring that network systems remain secure, reliable, and fit for purpose.

Essential skills and knowledge 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in network security architecture and system integration, with specific experience in critical infrastructure projects within the oil and gas, mining, or resources sectors. Expertise in routing, switching, wireless, security, and voice systems is essential, along with a strong grasp of O&G safety-critical systems.

Candidates should demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and strong stakeholder engagement capabilities. A relevant qualification in network engineering, systems architecture, or a related discipline is required.

Experience working in offshore or remote environments and the ability to travel as required are critical. Industry Safety Induction (Safer Together) certification or recent O&G experience is essential to meet site entry requirements.
