Introduction

Brunel is currently searching for an Instrumentation and Controls Technician for a direct position with our client about an hour North of Wentzville, MO.

What are you going to do 

Looking for an I&C Technician that will monitor and provide maintenance of the Controls Systems within the plant to ensure continued reliable operations. This role will focus on completing firmware updates and updates to the virus protection software.

Duties include:

  • DeltaV Control System Hardware and Software updates
  • Maintaining network security and user management as well as controls system configuration and libraries and standards.
  • Configure and maintain alarm attributes and logging systems as well as supporting alarm rationalization and system reliability.
  • Develop and maintain Control Loop functional specifications and prepare control strategy documentation and loop drawing using SAMA diagrams or logic block diagrams.
  • Monitor and improve Control Loop performance. Utilize tools such as Emerson Insight to detect performance degradation and optimize loop performance.
  • Partner with E&I Technicians to develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs.
  • Use monitoring tools such as ValveLink to support outage planning and reduce unplanned downtown.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology or related field, OR
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial automation or control systems.
  • Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing or chemical plant environment.
  • Experience supporting Distributed Controls Systems (DCS) or PLC systems.
  • Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell Automation Control Logix.
  • Experience configuring HMI systems.
  • Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84 / IEC 61511).
  • Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, or industrial databases.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking.
  • Positive attitude, friend demeanor, and team player.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship.

Offer:

Position offers a competitive salary based on experience. This position will be bonus eligible at 10%. Comprehensive benefits package starts on 1 of the month after hire date. Position will be on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, 9 hour shifts. 3 weeks paid vacation accruing, 12 paid holidays, up to 4% 401K match + additional company contributions based on years of service, tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, relocation sign-on and more.
