What are you going to do

We are partnering with our client, a respected organization in the Oil & Gas sector, to appoint a dedicated HSE Officer to strengthen their safety culture on site. As part of our client's team in Abu Dhabi, UAE, you will play a central role in safeguarding people, assets, and the environment through robust health, safety, and environmental practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
Prepare and review risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Monitor compliance with PPE and safe working procedures.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
Prepare HSE reports, inspection reports, and corrective-action records.
Monitor permit-to-work systems and high-risk activities.
Support emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, and first-aid arrangements.
Ensure proper housekeeping and environmental controls.
Coordinate with supervisors, workers, contractors, and management regarding safety issues.
Follow applicable UAE HSE legislation, client requirements, and company procedures.
Assist with internal and external HSE audits.

Essential skills and knowledge

Diploma/Bachelor's in Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) - highly preferred.
IOSH Managing Safely - useful, particularly for supervisors and safety personnel.
