Introduction

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Commercial Contracting to lead the negotiation, governance, and execution of complex infrastructure and service agreements across a national energy portfolio.

What are you going to do 

In this Senior Leadership position, you will oversee a team responsible for managing high volumes of commercial contracts, ensuring compliance, consistency, and delivery of optimal commercial outcomes. This role will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align agreements with strategic, regulatory, and financial objectives.

  • Lead the negotiation and execution of commercial agreements (transport, storage, connections, and service contracts).
  • Develop and implement contracting strategies that enhance efficiency and consistency nationally.
  • Oversee contract governance and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, Regulatory, and Operations teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimise commercial outcomes.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Commercial Advisors.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Extensive experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts in energy, infrastructure, or regulated sectors.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and commercial frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering consistent contracting outcomes at scale.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, collaboration skills, and commercial acumen.
