Introduction

What are you going to do 

  • Manage and give the required supports for all geotechnical works for projects;
  • Manage and organize all geotechnical works within Geotechnical/ Ground Improvement Section;
  • Focus on Company business priorities while meeting customer demands;
  • Assisting with the design of structures, using specialized software or calculations;
  • Analysis the soil parameters and assess the stability of structures under normal and seismic conditions;
  • Analysis geotechnical data and preparation of geotechnical interpretative report (GIR);
  • Analyze geotechnical findings, perform appropriate calculations and prepare data reports to Manager;
  • Design and analyze the quality control of the ground improvement works;
  • Analyze and evaluate the pre and post improvement testing, CPTU, Zone Load Testing, Boreholes, etc;
  • Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects;
  • Plan and conduct geotechnical investigation effectively;
  • Design and supervise site and ground investigations;
  • Analyze the soil parameters and provide input to the dredging production estimators;
  • Review geotechnical design developed by third party consultants;
  • Interact with client, sub-contractors and team members to complete the assigned project on-time;
  • Review construction design proposals and verify geotechnical aspects;
  • Ensure correct design approach as per QA/QC procedure and standards;
  • This is a generalist view of a Job that you have been assigned for — at times you may be asked to do above/beyond the scope of this role due to Operational requirements;
  • Identify hazards;
  • Obtain information from HSE Department;
  • Make recommendations to HSE Department;
  • Investigate Incidents;
  • Take ownership of own objectives agreed upon and of the objectives of the division;
  • Investigate, understand and respond to the needs of internal and external stakeholders. Build and maintain strategically important client and contractor relations;
  • Proactively serve and constructively respond to external client needs in order to meet business priorities;
  • Initiate and stimulate teaming: horizontal (between departments) and vertical (within the different departments) cooperation in the organization.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Engineering Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or geology or and equivalent professional qualification;
  • Minimum 5 plus years of Experience;
  • Function specific experience- Geotechnical Survey, GIS, Dredging, Marine construction;
  • Profound understanding about theoretical and practical soil and rock mechanics;
  • High level of knowledge of geotechnical design software and tools;
  • High level of knowledge of geotechnical standards and guidelines;
  • Risk Assessment / PTW;
  • Be able to manage personnel with different cultural backgrounds;
  • Motivate and inspire colleagues to develop knowledge, skills and competencies. Provide objective and constructive feedback in an appropriate way;
  • Stimulate a result-oriented organizational culture by regularly sharing the division's performance and results;
  • Be able to translate department targets into concrete and measurable goals for the division for a timely achievement of goals;
  • Show respect, flexibility and loyalty towards colleagues throughout the organization;
  • Collaborate constructively and effectively with all levels within and outside the organization orally and in writing. Actively listen and be persuasive in reasoning;
