What are you going to do 

  • Equipment Maintenance: Check and maintain floor equipment and drill string components regularly for smooth operation.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and government safety regulations. Participate in safety initiatives and ensure all tasks are completed safely on the rig.
  • Housekeeping: Conduct housekeeping duties such as cleaning, tidying, and painting the rig.
  • Physical Labor: Perform tasks including loading and unloading trucks, digging ditches, and assisting crane and forklift operators with drilling materials and supplies.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Rig Moves: Assist with rig moves as directed by superiors.

Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):

  • Certificate II in Drilling Oil/Gas (on shore) – MANDATORY
  • Drilling and Completions General Induction (DCGI) or Industry Safety Induction (ISI)
  • Undertake First Response to Fire
  • Operate Breathing Apparatus
  • Apply First Aid (including CPR)Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
  • Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Working at Heights
  • Gotcha Kit
  • Wellsite Permit to Work – Holder
  • Operate Vehicles in the field – 4WD

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Physical Strength and Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor and work long hours in extreme conditions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team environment and follow directions and company policies.
  • Knowledge of Machinery: General knowledge of machinery is considered an asset.
  • Driver’s License: Open, manual Driver’s License.
  • Experience: Preferably current experience as a Floorhand on a Land Rig or as an experienced Leasehand.
