Introduction

  • To deliver specialized firefighting training and emergency response programs, ensuring personnel are competent to respond to fire incidents safely and effectively within oil, gas, and petrochemical environments.

What are you going to do 

  • Deliver classroom and practical training on firefighting techniques and emergency response in line with industry standards (e.g., NFPA).
  • Develop and implement fire training programs for operational and emergency response personnel.
  • Conduct fire drills, simulations, and live fire exercises to enhance preparedness.
  • Provide hands-on instruction on the operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment and apparatus.
  • Assess trainees' competency levels and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of emergency response procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and international best practices.
  • Maintain training records, assessment reports, and documentation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and best practices across all training activities.
  • Mentor and coach personnel to build leadership and response capabilities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from an internationally recognized institution.
  • Graduate of The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent.
  • Qualified Fire Service Instructor (NFPA 1401 or equivalent certification).
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in fire operations.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role (Station Officer or higher).
  • Proven experience in fire training, preferably within oil, gas, or petrochemical industry emergency response.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial firefighting systems, equipment, and emergency response strategies.
  • Intermediate English proficiency (QP Level 6 or equivalent), both written and spoken.
  • Ability to operate and instruct on a wide range of firefighting equipment and systems.
  • Competency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of NFPA standards and emergency response frameworks.
  • Valid driving license (Heavy Vehicle preferred).
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead teams in high-pressure environments.
  • Well-organized with strong planning capabilities.
