Introduction

On behalf of our client – Woodside Energy, a Global Energy Company, Brunel is presently sourcing a Finance Business Partner (Drilling & Completions). You will be responsible for the financial aspects of D&C activity throughout the E&P lifecycle. You will provide insights that drive efficient cost management and resource allocation while also striving to develop sustainable Finance processes that meet the D&C management needs. This will be an 8 month contract located at their ‘state of the art’ Perth CBD premises.

What are you going to do 

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure full compliance with SOX controls
  • Cost management for D&C campaign
  • Accruing monthly well costs in accounting system in line with drilling reporting and then reviewing results against plan
  • Contract reviews for D&C campaigns (rig/vessels)
  • Half and Year End D&C lease and commitment reporting
  • Embedded derivative reviews for D&C contracts
  • Cost tracking against AFE and well cost estimates to prepare accurate monthly accruals
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts with cost controller and annual budget for D&C activities
  • Completion of well reconciliations (eg mud, cement, casing, completion materials, fuel) – currently being transitioned to Cost Control Team
  • Monitor, allocation and close out of campaign accounts
  • Maintain appropriate reporting & analysis to enable decision-makers to discharge their responsibilities
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Continuous improvement to improve the delivery of financial services and processes to meet business requirements and shift emphasis from historic review to performance management

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Relevant tertiary Accounting qualification or similar
  • Member or Associate of a recognised Accounting body
  • Previous experience working in an accounting environment
  • Exposure to the Oil & Gas industry sector OR D&C area of expertise will be well received
  • Operating knowledge of SAP
  • Anaplan
  • IDS Cost Tracking system
  • Group Finance Policies & Procedures
  • D&C Policies & Procedures (Industry Standard Practice)
