Field Superintendent - Utilities & Pipeline Corridor šŸ“ Based in Afungi, Mozambique | 28x28 Rotation | 12-Month Contract (Renewable)

Join a world-class operator delivering one of the largest and most complex energy infrastructure developments globally. We're seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to oversee utilities and pipeline corridor construction. Supporting safe execution, contractor performance, and project delivery on a major LNG development.

What are you going to doĀ 

  • Champion and lead a strong safety culture across client and contractor teams.

  • Support Area Manager in overseeing Utilities and Pipeline construction activities.

  • Monitor EPC contractor performance, construction progress, and schedule adherence.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with contractors and resolve critical site issues.

  • Review execution plans, method statements, and construction procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and project requirements.

  • Oversee construction execution through pre-commissioning and commissioning phases, including SIMOPS.

  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure work meets required standards.

  • Identify risks, technical challenges, and mitigation strategies.

  • Participate in planning meetings, emergency drills, and incident investigations.

  • Ensure proper documentation, as-built records, and handover to commissioning teams.

  • Maintain visible on-site leadership and construction oversight.

Essential skills and knowledgeĀ 

  • Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline (advanced qualifications preferred).

  • Minimum 15 years' industry experience, including 5+ years in a superintendent or similar leadership role.

  • At least 10 years' experience on greenfield projects.

  • Experience in LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, or pipeline projects.

  • Strong knowledge of EPC construction management and large-scale project delivery.

  • Proven leadership in HSE and safety culture development.

  • Experience managing SIMOPS and commissioning transitions.

  • Strong understanding of international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, NFPA).

  • Experience with documentation control, work package completion, and handover processes.

  • Excellent English communication skills (Portuguese or French advantageous).
