Introduction

  • Responsible for overseeing Onshore Contractor in delivery of all aspects of Corrosion engineering, materials, technical and execution definition, including planning and execution of detailed design, procurement, installation.

What are you going to do 

  • Provides Corrosion engineering knowledge, design, quality assurance, leadership and expertise in accordance with project deliverables and approved execution schedule.
  • Lead Corrosion engineering discipline activities and contribute to the project department strategy and goals, including Field Engineering activities.
  • Lead technical activities through interactions with the project owner, shareholder, facilities owner, contractors, vendors, consultants.
  • Support the engineering team of external organizations, entities appointed representatives to ensure engineering design addresses each company's expectations consistent with LNG and Project's objectives.
  • Evaluate complex tasks and provide appropriate recommendations to management on Onshore issues. Provide support to other disciplines and contribute to other multidisciplinary tasks.
  • Develop, introduce and maintain best practices, Lessons Learned, systems and software tools that will continuously improve execution of the projects and optimize cost effective implementation activities.
  • Ensures compliance with LNG systems and processes including the Project Management System and maintains support and adoption of all processes.
  • Prepare plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of projects.
  • Participate in contracting and procurement activities to ensure technical requirements are met from pre-qualification, preparation of bid invitations and requests for quotation, bidding, evaluations, contract execution and performance, and contract(s) close-out.
  • Monitors and provides necessary guidance to the Contractor(s) and all 3rd Party Services throughout the project phases.
  • Ensures the facilities are constructed by the scope, meeting LNG standards and specifications, within the time and project cost approved by the shareholders.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Corrosion science and Material)
  • 8 years' experience in Corrosion Engineering roles, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 1 years' experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor / subcontractors / service / vendor personnel.
  • Preferable experience in a major LNG Project.
  • LNG and sour gas materials selection and corrosion prevention management experience is highly desirable
  • Previous Experience with Corrosion engineering works in Qatar.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.
  • Strong technical, prioritization and management skills.
  • Good communication, influencing and interface skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc.
