As an Embedded Software Engineer, you develop firmware that communicates directly with hardware and controls critical functions. What are you going to do 

You work on low-level software that runs directly on hardware and ensures stable and predictable system behavior. Together with hardware engineers, you analyze system behavior, solve technical challenges, and improve performance.

  • Developing firmware and drivers that communicate directly with microcontrollers and peripheral devices.
  • Controlling and reading sensors, motors, and switches with a strong focus on timing and reliability.
  • Analyzing and debugging at chip level using measurement equipment such as an oscilloscope.
  • Optimizing code for efficient memory usage and processing performance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

You work in a structured way and have a strong attention to detail. You collaborate smoothly with colleagues from different disciplines and translate technical insights into practical solutions.

  • Completed MBO/HBO/WO degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with embedded software development in C and/or C++.
  • Experience with RTOS (such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr) and/or bare-metal development.
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, preferably ARM Cortex-M.
  • Proficiency in both Dutch and English.
