Introduction

Our Client is looking for an experienced Electricians for Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL), Gladstone, one of Australia's largest aluminium smelters (1,300 employees, 500,000+ tonnes annual production). The successful candidate will maintain critical infrastructure and electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment, with fault finding, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical/control systems.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair CCTV systems across site
  • Support site access control and security infrastructure
  • Assist with PLC fault finding, diagnostics and programming activities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical assets
  • Investigate and rectify electrical faults
  • Complete inspections, testing and commissioning activities as required
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Work safely within site procedures and permit systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and reliability activities

Essential skills and knowledge 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current Queensland Electrical Licence
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence (or recognised equivalent)
  • Current High Risk Work Licence - Boom Type Elevated Work Platform
  • Ability to pass a Boyne Smelters Yellow Card Medical
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance

Highly Regarded

  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Industrial maintenance experience
  • CCTV systems experience
  • Access control systems experience
  • Communications and data cabling experience
  • Exposure to heavy industrial, smelter, refinery, mining, manufacturing or processing facilities
