Introduction

Brunel is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer / Superintendent - Electrical Process Equipment SME to provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for critical electrical process equipment across mining and mineral processing operations

What are you going to do 

  • Serve as the primary SME for electrical process equipment reliability, asset management, maintenance strategy, and lifecycle planning.
  • Conduct assessments of VFDs, cycloconverters, MCCs, switchgear, motors, crushers, mills, conveyors, electric shovels, haul trucks, and associated drive systems.
  • Develop corrective action plans, reliability improvement strategies, asset health programs, and lifecycle management solutions.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts and root cause analyses.
  • Analyze fault logs, alarms, event records, and test data.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
  • Provide technical leadership for upgrades, modernization initiatives, outages, and capital projects.
  • Develop project scopes, specifications, and execution plans.
  • Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup support, and turnover activities.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop technical standards and best practices.
  • Mentor engineers, electricians, technicians, and reliability personnel.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and operational performance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 7+ years of experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical maintenance, reliability, commissioning, asset management, modernization projects, construction, or technical leadership roles.
  • Strong expertise with VFDs, cycloconverters, MCCs, switchgear, motors, motor protection systems, and industrial controls.
  • Experience supporting heavy industrial or mining process equipment and reliability improvement initiatives.

What we offer

  • This position offers a flat daily rate for days worked only. 5 day work week, 10-hour workdays. All full-time Brunel contractors are eligible for benefits. Your medical, dental and vision will begin on your first day of employment. 401K matching - 50% match, up to 3%.

  • Non-local candidates to Bagdad, Arizona will be on a 4x1 rotation and provided single-status, fully furnished accommodations, airfare to/from home, rental car, fuel reimbursement, plus a $750/month stipend for food. Rotation will be 4 weeks on, 1 week off (not working).
